This month I've been off the map. I know. You probably emailed me. Or called me. Or even stopped by with a 6er of beer and the Swedish Bikini Team. Sorry I didn't answer (especially if you had the nordic hotties with you!) but it's been a crazy month. However, good came from it - my dissertation is now in its final form! Well, pretty much. Of course tweaking and revising will continue for the next 3 weeks until it's finally submitted, but the "final draft" is being reviewed right now. And it feels great.

So, I'm back to the land of the living for a few days... The sun is out and it's been one of the few pleasant weeks Houston sees annually. Since when do those 80°, dry, clear and refreshing days happen in early December? Strange. I'm beginning to think that there's something to this global warming thing.

I just got off the phone with a woman at GE. It's strange to get all nervous for a grueling interview, then have it go very quickly (15 min!) and smoothly. She was a HR person, so there was quite a bit less technical prodding than i expected. She will forward my information to the hiring manager who may call me back in 1-2 weeks. So overall it was somewhat anti-climactic. I know I'll be a perfect fit for the job, but my background may not make me the strongest candidate. So, the waiting game begins...
