I admit it. I love google in its myriad forms.
Gmail,
Google Maps, regular
Google , etcetera ad infinitum. I've been a convert since the original google search engine came out in, oh, 98. And now they come along with
Google Local which is pretty much better than
yp.yahoo which has been my stand-by for all these years.
The other thing I love is
Firefox and its search bar. Doesn't get any easier! There wasn't a Google Local search plugin yet, so I wrote one this morning which should tide me over until
Mozilla releases one. Get it
HERE (download, unzip, and put the 2 files in your searchplugins folder, then restart firefox to use). Your query syntax should be
Store in City, State where
Store is either a name (Zachary's Chicago Pizza), partial name (Zachary), or type (pizza) and
State can be either the full name or 2-letter abbreviation. Enjoy!
